Hello! We are Kyle, Tina, Grace, Ella, and Bess Lengauer, hands-on huacaya alpaca breeders owning a small farm in the rolling hills of southwestern Pennsylvania. Located about 10 miles west of Washington, near the historic villages of Meadowcroft and West Middletown, we have been raising quality alpacas since 1999.

Telling the alpaca story, explaining alpaca husbandry and breeding, and sharing our knowledge and experiences are the things we enjoy talking about. Our breeding program currently focuses on selective outbreeding of our sound, quality female stock to choice, prominent males having quantifiable genetic attributes (breeding value). Our breeding goal is to improve the next generation's physical characteristics (conformation) and fiber quality relative to the traits we envision will best lend to and support the evolving fiber industry and the value of alpacas. Outbreeding allows us to choose herdsires that best meet our standards as well as create more diverse bloodlines which, given the relatively small current population of alpacas in the U.S. (approx. 30,500 registered huacayas as of June '02) and the fact that the Alpaca Registry is closed to future imports, is just as vital to breeding bloodstock for the future.
